Fear

Daily life here is still very much affected by the Covid virus. We are in our sixth or seventh (I have lost count), state of emergency since last April. This current one lasts until the end of Sept at least but the government has already extended it twice.

It’s truly a fear based world right now. When we are out walking or playing in parks (which may or may not be closed due to Covid), often everyone has masks on. There is still much fear that the children will catch COVID.

Jon and the boys went to the mall yesterday forgetting that it was closed on the weekends because of the state of emergency.

We pray that our area remains steady and that the case numbers go down so our people will be safe and so the Okinawan people will be safe. It is an other worldly feel here and probably will remain that way for the better part of this school year.
