On Feb 28, Linnea was able to have an umbilical cord hernia surgery at the local Japanese hospital. The surgery lasted six hrs, which was a lot longer then originally thought, which reminded us that the surgery was very necessary. The recovery was about four days in the hospital and then about a month of no lifting. It was six weeks to the day before the pain wore off.
Thankfully because we had a couple of months of planning, we had multiple church friends helping out! And our sweet church also gave us several weeks of meals.
Linnea was told that the best PT was walking and about 95% of the days have had a walk or two in them!
The follow-up appointment went well and there will be one more appointment at the end of August to check if the hernia has returned.
