This island is very complex. There are many parts of it, like where we live in the main part of the island, which are lined with houses, offices, schools, etc… Surprisingly, the island claims to have roughly 1.3 million residents. We don’t doubt that number when rush hour hits.

However, there are also many roads like that pictured above, where its a regular road which may or may not lead us into a ditch.  There is much beauty in these whimsical roads.

Then we have the beach fronts of Okinawa and the reminders of the tropical island we live on. Palm trees, like this one in our neighbors yard, remind us daily that God’s world in Okinawa is very unique and beautiful.
